About us

The school also has a male and a female football team, and also a girl’s netball team.
The school was founded in 1998 by the late Mr. Billa Mahmud in a community called La – Apaapa.
His intention was to give formal education to children who are not in school because their parents can’t afford the bills.
Because the children in the vicinity always like to play football, he formed a football team and the bait was, before a child will be admitted to the football team, you have to participate in early morning lessons before training starts late in the afternoon.
All this while the class was being held under a mango tree. About fifteen children started this programme and the number increased because more parents became interested in the programme.
He has to move them to a bigger mango tree for more space when the number of children participating the programme increased.
Luckily for him, people who ”fell in love” with what he was doing donated to the project and he was able to rent a building that will be able to accommodate the number of children he was teaching.
Mr. Mahmud has to relocate to the next community when the number kept increasing. The name of this new community is called Teshie.
He rented an apartment which housed about 50 pupils and Mr Mahmud single handedly has to move from one class to the other to teach.
The plan at that time, as afore mentioned, was to teach these kids for some time and later enrol them in government schools for them to get proper and formal education.
This he did for sometime and with the support of individuals and other donors, founder was able to acquire a land.
Unfortunately for us, the founder, Mr. Billa Mahmud, died and project was taken over by his wife.
The school relocated to a new site at Tse Addo, Accra, in a wooden structure after the wife was painfully evicted from the previous premises.
With the help of FAFA Foundation, we were able to get a more appealing double storey classroom block and two school buses to convey the kids to and from school.
With over 400 pupils and 25 working staff, the school continues to provide formal eeducation, a more serene environment and continues to help the children nurture their talents.

Our main partners like FAFA Foundation, Akwaaba Volunteers and Futurestars Charity, continue to provide the needed support to enhance the growth of the school When Covid came in 2019 to 2020, most of our donors winded up, thus, support for the project became minimal or non existent. One of our main partners, Future Leaders, UK, however continued with their support until they also winded up in December, 2021. FAFA Foundation has been on board and they are still helping enormously with the project. Though there are a lot to do when it comes to infrastructural development, we are so grateful to FAFA Foundation for their continuous support and donations to the school. There are other partners like Akwaaba Volunteers, Futurestars Charity who are, one way or the other, supporting the school in different aspects. We also have students from Cologne International School coming in year in year out to volunteer and donate to the school. They have also been our partners for some time. The project can also boost of a football team with ages ranging from 10 years to 17 years. There is also a girl’s netball team affiliated to the school. We have certified coaches who take charge of the various teams. Our main aim is also to nurture their talents without compromising on their formal education.
