About the Volunteer Project

The volunteer project helps to provide essential volunteers to assist with the teaching and coaching and finance to ensure we can continue to run the project.
Billa Mahmud Memorial Future Leaders School is looking for motivated volunteers to make a meaningful contribution to the education of disadvantaged children in Ghana. If you are patient, energetic and keen to work with children then you would be welcomed by the centre and the students that attend.
For many, volunteering is a life changing experience, and you can volunteer with our full support, in the comfort and safety of the Billa Mahmud Memorial Future Leaders School. As we are a non-profit, you can be sure that all of the money you pay to the school will be used to support the work of Billa Mahmud Memorial Future Leaders School’s operations in Ghana.

Mission

Teach Work with the children who attend the centre one-to-one to reinforce the classroom curriculum
Coach Coach child and adult football teams (boys and girls) to excel in Africa’s favourite sport

Personal service

Support training

Our live-in staff help you develop skills needed to be a successful volunteer from the start, to ensure you get the most from your placement and the students get the best education possible.

Grassroots project

Volunteers are essential to the day to day running of the project and the finance created by those who volunteer is used directly to the running of the project.

Assessed placement

We work with individuals, associations, Universities or schools to help plan, execute and review goals set as part of any placement requirements. We have long-standing ties with Canterbury Christ Church University, UK, who annually send BaEd students here for placement, Cologne International School, Germany and with Lordswood 6th Form College in Birmingham, UK. We have also had students from Canada and the USA who have volunteered here as part of their degree programmes.

Community development

We employ Ghanaian staff as teachers, cooks, vocational trainers and managers, ensuring local consultation, long-term commitment and greater local development.

Wider community involvement

The Billa Mahmud Memorial Future Leaders School football (Billa Future Stars Academy) and netball teams, vocational training salons and vocational sewing centre (Noha) help to train, involve and employ even more young people and adults in their community. This provides greater integration between our volunteer project and the community it works within.

Price Apply

We are a non-profit organisation and the money you fundraise to volunteer with the Future Leaders School helps us to keep the centre running. Your payment is calculated to cover your living expenses and a donation to the Organisation of approximately equal value

Our Plan

All donations will go to support 3 main problems: food, education, health. Our project is working with troubled kids in Africa more than 5 years and we’ve achieved great successes.
